The electronics department
The Askoll group’s electronic design know-how, from research through to product engineering, is concentrated in the Electronics Department. It interacts closely with the electrical department on research work, given that the architecture of the driver is close correlated to the controlled electric motor. This is why the design work is backed up by advanced instruments, particularly by computer simulation, which allows the behaviour of the complete machine in transient and permanent conditions to be described.
This is a very important advantage which offers general simulation, once the model has been refined with .experimental .verification, and verification of the motor’s behaviour in conditions otherwise impossible in the laboratory, for example, determining the magnetic flux in a given section of the ferromagnetic material or the behaviour of the driver in overspeed. The research work includes designing firmware and software for microcontrollers and DSP, even pushing into the sector of microelectronics: asic, mixed, analogue and digital integrated circuits have been internally designed.
The department also has laboratories with equipment and instrumentation capable of performing all types of electric and electronic measurements.
